Primary Care
We exist to help people access culturally sensitive and compassionate healthcare.
Primary care providers are specifically trained for and skilled in comprehensive and continuing care for persons with any undiagnosed and/or chronic sign, symptom, or health concern.
Our primary care practice pairs individuals with their own personal healthcare team to address the majority of their health and wellness needs.
Blood Pressure
High blood pressure typically does not cause symptoms. Long-term high blood pressure, however, is a major risk factor for stroke, heart disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, peripheral artery disease, vision loss, chronic kidney disease, and dementia. Blood pressure can typically be controlled by diet, exercise and oral medications prescribed at Omni Health Institute.
Asthma & Bronchitis
Asthma is a chronic condition characterized by the airways being chronically inflamed and is thought to either result from certain inherited genes, having respiratory infections during infancy or childhood, or the environment you’re exposed to. Bronchitis can be caused by a virus or bacteria. Both cause wheezing, or a whistling sound when you breathe, shortness of breath, coughing and tightness in the chest. Treatment involves supportive therapy and medications that can be prescribed by Omni Health Institute.
Cholesterol
High cholesterol is typically due to a combination of lifestyle and genetic factors. Lifestyle factors include weight, diet, stress and alcohol use. Most of the time, high cholesterol does not have symptoms but over time it can lead to heart attacks, strokes and death. Cholesterol can typically be controlled by diet, exercise and oral medications prescribed at Omni Health Institute.
Arthritis
Arthritis is a term often used to describe any disorder that affects joints. Symptoms generally include joint pain and stiffness. Other symptoms may include redness, warmth, swelling and decreased range of motion of the affected joints. In some types of arthritis, other organs are also affected. Treatment involves supportive therapy, medications and surgery occasionally. Weight loss and exercise may also be useful. Omni Health Institute provides treatment for most forms of arthritis.
Diabetes
Diabetes is characterized by high blood sugar over a period of time. Symptoms include frequent urination, increased thirst and increased appetite. If left untreated, diabetes can lead to heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure, limb amputations, foot ulcers, blindness and death. Diabetes can typically be controlled by diet, exercise and medications prescribed at Omni Health.
Mood Disorders
Mood disorder, also known as mood affective disorders, is a group of mental and behavioral conditions, where a disturbance in mood is the main underlying feature. Depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia are common mood disorders that can affect other medical conditions. Treatment involves supportive therapy, medications and examination of potential underlying medical conditions. Omni Health Institute provides evaluation and treatment for some mood disorders.
Prevention. Treatment. Management.
We believe our community is best served when care is provided by an integrated team led by a primary care physician. Our health professionals work together to protect, promote, and maintain health and well-being, and to prevent disease, disability, and pre-mature death. Health screenings are critical towards prevention and early diagnosis. When treatment is necessary, we use modern methods to effectively communicate and manage most any condition.
